Authorize.Net, which is owned by the CyberSource Corporation has provided a secure payment gateway for merchants to authorize, settle, and manage online transactions using credit cards and electronic check payments since 1996. Their services are currently used by in excess of 207,000 merchants worldwide and they can integrate to websites and shopping carts using a variety of methods to best suit individual merchants.

As Authorize.Net’s services are sold through a network of reseller partners, some of their prices will vary between resellers, who are also able to assist in establishing a merchant account. For this reason, fees for gateway setup, monthly gateway and transactions are priced on an individual basis depending upon the business type, transaction volume and other factors, for instance special promotions. Merchant account fees are charged separately and are determined by bank or card association.

Authorize.Net’s Virtual Terminal, Fraud Prevention Tools (address verification service and card code verification) and Connection Methods are free. The connection methods consist of an advanced integration method where the customer pays on your web site and a server integration method where the customer pays on the Authorize.Net web site.

Fees for other services are optional and are priced in US dollars as follows:

  • Fraud Detection Suite™ costs $5 per month
  • Automated Recurring Billing™ costs $10 per month
  • Customer Information Manager costs $20 per month
