USA ePay, are a GorCorp Inc. company based in Los Angeles Ca, that has been helping merchants process credit card and check transactions since 1998. Currently the USA ePay gateway supports several of the major platforms in the credit card industry as well as working with leading check platforms. USA ePay also works with a good number of the larger merchant banks both in the US and abroad.

The system works in simplified form as follows:

A customer makes a purchase from your online store and enters their credit card details for payment. These details are passed by USA ePay gateway to the customer’s card issuer for authentication. Once this is accepted by the issuing bank, the authentication code is generated and returned to the USA ePay gateway. The merchant then receives approval from USA ePay and the transaction is accepted. The merchant then completes the sale and sends out the merchandise to the customer. The transaction is completed when funds are transferred from the customer’s credit card to the merchant’s bank.

Fraud protection is handled by the gateway which gives every merchant their Modular Stack Fraud Center, which aims to prevent 99.9% of fraud with the settings correctly in place. These include address verification (AVS), card id (CVV2/ CVC2/ CID) and several fraud control modules all designed to limit the possibility of fraudulent transactions taking place.
